Is this a substitute for registering with a copyright office or collecting society?

Can I use a dossier in a negotiation or a dispute?

Who can see my records?

Only people you add to your workspace. Access is enforced in the database itself, not only in the interface, and every material change is logged.

What does the checksum do?

Your browser calculates a SHA-256 digest of each uploaded file before it leaves your device and stores it with the record. If the file is later altered, the digest will not match. It says nothing about who created the file or when.

Can I get my records out?

Yes. Each asset has a print and PDF-ready dossier, and every list can be read and exported from your workspace.

What it does

Asset registry

One entry per work: title, category, creators and contributors, creation and publication dates, territories, status, identifiers such as ISBN, ISWC, ISRC or a registration number, version label, tags, links and notes.

Provenance ledger

An append-only history of what happened and when — creation, authorship, transfer, assignment, licence grant, registration filed elsewhere, publication, deposit or dispute. Entries cannot be edited or deleted. A mistake is corrected by adding a correction entry that points at the earlier one, so the record shows the change rather than hiding it.

Rights matrix

Who claims which right, for what share, in which territory, in which languages and media, exclusive or not, for what term, with restrictions and encumbrances recorded alongside. Shares are totalled per right and territory, and over-allocation or overlapping exclusive claims are flagged.

Agreements and licensing

Offers, options, licences, assignments, NDAs and permissions with counterparty, scope, territory, term, exclusivity, financial terms, milestones, renewal notice dates and a document reference. Agreements approaching renewal or expiry surface on the dashboard.

Evidence vault

Supporting records kept in private storage with file metadata, a SHA-256 checksum calculated in your browser before upload, capture date, version chain and export-ready listing. Only members of your workspace can read the files.

Commercialisation pipeline and dossier

Move each opportunity through Available, Outreach, Negotiation, Optioned, Licensed, Sold and Closed with notes and a next action. Then export a print-ready rights dossier: summary, provenance timeline, rights matrix, agreements, evidence references and the exact time it was generated.

Working offline

Rights Foundry can be installed to a phone or desktop and keeps working when the connection does not. Records you have already opened stay readable, new drafts and provenance entries are queued on the device, and everything is sent the next time you are online. A provenance entry is never rewritten: an offline correction is added as a new correction entry pointing at the earlier one. Nothing is marked as backed up until the server has accepted it, and you can remove all offline data from a device at any time. Offline mode is part of the paid tiers; your own records are always readable and exportable whatever plan you are on.
